About

My name is Halle Diehl and I am a certified birth doula and I'm currently working on getting my postpartum doula certification. I am passionate about this work, and I see how big of an impact doulas can have on women, and supporting them through this incredible time of their lives. 

During my last three years of high school I started taking courses that would meet the requirements of getting into midwifery school. Though this was a dream of mine and a career I was working hard towards, I still had reservations about fully committing to a four year program when I hadn't experienced life first. This made it difficult to fully commit to midwifery. It wasn't until my last few weeks of grade 12 that I was caught under the pressure of having to decide what direction I wanted to go after school. I had advice given to me, by a midwife, that schools typically like women to experience life before they apply to midwifery. So knowing this I wanted to find a way to learn more about birth and gain experience. So one night I decided to look up what a doula was, I had heard of it, but I hadn't spent anytime looking into what the job description was. A few minutes of research went by and I knew that was what I wanted to do. This allowed room to see if midwifery is what I want to pursue and was a great step to gaining experience. That night I found a doula training course online and the next day I called the program and had a great talk with the school. I had a great talk with my family about this decision and that night I signed up for the course! It has now been a year since I started the course and I am now a certified birth doula, and I will soon be a certified postpartum doula. I have learned so much about birth and the female body that I am in complete awe that our bodies are capable of such incredible processes. I am confident that birth work is not only my passion, but a need in every community around the world. I want to not only support women and there families before, during, and after birth, but to help bring clarity and information where the world has brought fear and confusion surrounding birth!
